Members of Dewsbury British Legion, organisers of the event, had invited the public to walk with the procession to the park.
Cllr Paul Kane, who lead the commemorations as Deputy Mayor said, "We are all here to remember the sacrifices made on our behalf by the sons and daughters of Dewsbury"

The event was attended by over 400 people, including the Deputy Lord Lieutenant and colleague Cllr Eric Firth.
