Sarah Cook nominated as Labour candidate for Denby Dale

Denby Dale Labour Party recently held its selection meeting to select its candidate for the forthcoming elections in May. After due process it was decided unanimously to adopt Sarah Cook to fight the seat in May 2015 as the Labour Party candidate.

Local branch members said, "Sarah is the ideal candidate to fight and win the seat back from the Tories in May.”

She is full of energy and is well liked by all those she meets, and will work non-stop between now and the May election to ensure she becomes the second Labour Councillor in Denby Dale.

Sarah Said she, "was honoured to have been selected to fight the seat in May and will be out on the door step or on the phone every week to secure a Labour victory in Denby Dale.”

Cllr Graham Turner added, "I am really looking forward to helping Sarah secure a victory in Denby Dale and then working with her for the benefit of the residents of the Denby Dale ward.”

Sarah Cook is a woman of boundless energy & enthusiasm, who will bring to Kirklees 25 years’ successful business experience combined with traditional Labour passions for fairness & justice, community values & belief in local government.

For 18 years Sarah worked at a senior level for international computer giant IBM, part of a team delivering multi-billion dollar contracts. She developed new processes in resource management which IBM adopted world-wide.

In 2012 Sarah determined to put something back into the community & took the life-changing decision to retrain as a teacher at Huddersfield University. She is currently hugely enjoying teaching in a Bradford secondary school.

Sarah will be an exceptionally active councillor, with skills & experience Kirklees urgently needs in these desperate times.
