In 2010 I worked closely with the Batley Methodist Church to help them solve the ownership of a piece of derelict land at the back of their church. When it turned out to actually be theirs I helped them secure funding at that time for the land to be cleared and securely fenced off.
Also a group were looking to take over a piece of land for an environmental project, which includes the Community Payback Team, so it all worked out really positive for all.
As a ‘thank you’ I was invited that year to attend their Daffodil Rally organised by the Methodist Church North Kirklees & Morley Circuit. A wonderful celebration of Spring, the church bursting at the seams with daffodils donated by attendees, and apparently this has been happening for over 50 years. I’ve been invited back every year since so I was their last Tuesday. A lovely service again and my thanks to Margaret Webster for again making me feel so welcome!
