Todays Guardian once again has highlighted the attack on those most in need by the former sacked Chancellor.


A survey of Women's Aid-affiliated domestic violence refuges shows that 67% of those operating in England will be forced to close if they are not exempted from forthcoming reforms, while 87% will be forced to scale down the support that they give to families. The warning comes after plans were revealed in the former chancellor George Osborne's autumn statement to cap the amount of rent that housing benefit will cover in the social sector at the same level offered to private landlords in the same area. Some refuges cover 90% of their costs from housing benefit, the charity adds.
