Robert Light, leader of Kirklees Tories says he knows why we are having to cut much more than the Tory Shires down south.
The Labour Government gave Kirklees too much money when he was leader of the council he says.
That would be in the days when central government distributed grant on the basis of need rather than who you voted for.
Did you know that under the old system Kirklees had more money than Hampshire for gritting roads, because they had more roads, more hills and it is colder. We now get the same money.
