This was not a bye election any of us wanted, but I am sure that the newly elected MP for Batley and Spen. Tracy Brabin will continue the work started by our lost comrade Jo and go on to build on that solid foundation Jo left us with.
Tracy has a fantastic future ahead of her and I know she will work endlessly to represent the people of Batley and Spen.
All the others who decided to stand lost their deposits which is what they deserved.
The residents of Batley and Spen have rejected hate and racism, and voted for a positive future built around peace and inclusion.
