London Garden Bridge - Another Bridge too Far?
Just as Northern Councils are having budgets scrapped, and after flood defence spending for the North is all but scrapped, just to rub salt in the wounds, a grant is awarded of £60m for a "Garden Bridge for London"
That is a Bridge with flowers on it that Joanna Lumley wants to build as a tribute to Dianna, the bridge will cost £175m - yes that is £175m - part of that funding will be £60m of tax payers money. In other words, whilst basic services across the North of England are being reduced or are disappearing altogether, we are paying for a whim of an actress.
Joanna brags that she has known Boris since they were 4 years old and for some reason that justifies spending our money on a project that can at best be described as an unnecessary luxury. If one were being a bit more critical it could also be seen as plain daft a very long way from being Absolutly Fabulous.
