Conservatives Call for Grit to be Thrown Away
The council budget each year makes an estimate of how much it will spend on gritting. This will obviously depend on the weather. A good winter means we spend less.
The improvement of information we get on the condition of our roads enables us to target where we grit, to only the places where we get ice, so the budget was adjusted accordingly.
The Conservatives in their wisdom called on this to be put back in the budget, in fact asking the council to grit roads where there is no ice.
