SMALL SITES PROJECT FOR HOUSING
At Cabinet today the decision will be taken on a number of small sites that are part of the councils commitment to creating local jobs and meeting local housing need.
The Labour Cabinet decided to attempt to make small sites available that would be attractive to local builders, who have had difficulty getting hold of sites. The large development companies and speculators snap up all the larger sites, forcing small local builders out of business. The aim of the plan is twofold, we create jobs for local people and at the same time provide homes that will go some way to meeting local need.
