Barnsley Trades Council is proud to be sponsoring the
Barnsley launch of an exciting new book: IN LOVING MEMORY OF WORK: A Visual
Record of the Miners's Strike. The book is by a young Barnsley designer Craig
Oldham who was born days after the strike ended in 1985. His dad and grandad
were striking miners (his dad was arrested at Orgreave). The profits from the
book sales are going to the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign. The book has
already won 2 interntional D and AD awards for its design.
The launch will be from 5pm onwards on Thursday 4th
June in the Barnsley Civic Gallery on Hanson Street, Barnsley S70 2HZ. Craig
Oldham will be present as werll as another Barnsley designer Paul Morton who
designed solidarity postcards for the miners for Leeds Postcards during the
strike, raising £20,000.
