We were told by a "Tory" worker, that he had been given the day off with pay to work for the Tories in Batley and Spen. He said as a "minimum wage" furniture assembler, "why shouldn't I do it, it's easier work than in the factory".Obviously nothing wrong with this, as long as it is declared on the election returns, and the limit is not broken. The Candidate, as a lawyer will know this.
What was probably not a good tactic, was to tell the workers to approach only Muslim voters and tell them they should only vote for Muslims, but at least on this the boss was not afraid to lead by example, even though we understand he was a bit peeved when the Police were called.
It will be interesting to see what Danny has to say about his friends tactics.
