I know it is not fashionable to let facts get in the way of a good story, or in this case a good whinge, but recently published Kirklees statistics show up the Conservatives attack on our binmen for what it is an ignorant unwarranted attack on our bin service. Yes things can go wrong from time to time and we have to address any problems but a service that has made savings from year to year on Domestic bin collection of nearly £1m a year, over the past five years.

2011-2012 – Domestic £4873K

2012-2013 – Domestic £4821K,

2013-2014 – Domestic £5935K,

2014-2015 – Domestic £4753K,

2015-2016 – Domestic £4521K,

2016-2017 – Domestic £3923K,

 

 

and at the same time the year on year decrease in the number of complaints has not slowed down.
