DOG WALKING AREAS ?
I talked to an old lady this week who had nowhere near her house to walk her dog. As the informal bits of land in urban areas are either developed or made into play areas, dog walking areas disappear.
We also have problems with fouling play areas, a health hazard as well as being disgusting. There will always be irresponsible dog owners who will let their dogs go where they want and not clean it up.
Should the council start creating dedicated fenced off dog areas?
We could make them visibly attractive and they will encourage bio-diversity. Dogs are important to a lot of older people who live on their own, and don't forget the advantage that the exorcise involved in walking dogs has to the owners.
