Local Welfare Provision
Readers of previous bits on this subject will appreciate the opprobrium I levelled at Eric Pickles over his Christmas Present to those in need by his despicable act in withdrawing funding for Local Welfare Provision.
Remember this was not a new provision, it was the fund that used to be operated by Department of Work and Pensions; to save money they stopped the fund and passed the duty to Local Authorities. The money was saved by cutting the amount they thought was needed (based on their Scroodge like interpretation of need) by 10%.
We have now received a letter from Steve Webb MP that includes the statement "this will be the last year of separate funding from the Department of Work and Pensions". He goes on to make the ridiculous claim that Eric will somehow fund this provision - remember that whilst he has chosen to increase funding for some favoured southern authorities he has cut our funding by £40m.
The question re level of evilness is based on the fact that Eric is a known Mean Evil Unfeeling Capitalist, whereas Steve pretends to be a Lib/Dem. Remember, Lib/Dems are supposed to be Mean Evil Unfeeling Capitalists with a hint of Compassion.
Steve has demonstrated that in the Compassion department, he is deficient. He is the human equivalent of the Meerkat, in that the Meerkat portrays an image of a caring cuddly toy, but in reality is a mean spirited evil killer, willing to sacrifice their own children to test the safety of a road.
So who is the most evil, Eric or Steve?
Or are they both Evil Products of the unholy alliance the Evil Empire.
