Universal Credit
The Work & Pensions Committee have reported on the performance of the DWP & the introduction of Universal
Credit.
The headline is that they have managed to spend £188m and have delivered nothing, that it is very likely are not going to deliver anything. At their best estimate they will have nothing ready till 2016 and if they do deliver by then it will only work for five years.
This catalogue of inefficiency and blatant waste does not take into account the problems with the basic concept, that everyone who reads more that the Daily Telegraph is warning of. Nor does it take into account the extra costs forced onto hard pressed Local Councils who at the end of the day are going to have to clean up the mess of this daft Tory proposal.
