Labour Group Living Wage Resolution
The Labour Group has submitted a resolution to be put at the next full Council meeting on the "living Wage" it says;
This Council is committed to the concept of a “Living Wage”.
Call upon the Cabinet to bring forward proposals to;
Move towards the Council paying a minimum of a “Living Wage”
to all its employees.
Bring forward proposals to where possible ensure all Kirklees
Contractors pay a minimum of a “Living Wage” to all their employees.
Whilst there is talk of the Government increasing the minimum wage, remembering that they were violently opposed to its implementation in the first place, we will be extremely surprised if it is anywhere near the £7.45 that is the current minimum.
